ART, the Ocean and a Blue palette- NOW
When the pandemic hit, I went back to my creative roots and painted again. Not being able to see interior decorating clients allowed me time to create a bold ocean collection. I had a vision for a specific style and my brand, Authentic Bleu was born. A vibrant collection of blue, ocean themed original artwork pieces were developed with the most vivid blue hues I could find. BLUE is my favorite color and ocean color.
Abstract Art by Authentic Bleu has opened an art studio in a new, trendy arts district in Sarasota FL. This Art Studio, Contemporary Art Collective & Gallery is open to the public every Saturday and by appointment other days.
Saving the ocean from plastic is another passion and I created a line of beautifully covered containers, up-cycled using single use plastics. I include Sarasota treasures from the beach. Passion for Color & Design
Being passionate about art, color, decorating, textiles, nature and all things beautiful and positive, I see inspiration everywhere.
At a young age while creating art in high school I won the NJ State Teen Arts Festival competition. I drew a colored pencil drawing in a Matisse style. He became my favorite artist with his mesmerizing use of color.
This award inspired me to move forward toward a career in fashion. I became enthralled with shape and color. I look to Matisse for inspiration and am drawn to his use of bold color and pattern. He was unstoppable even at an advanced age through bold paper cut outs. The color blocking and signature royal blue in his cut outs were something out of a dream for me.
When creating art or decorating, I truly lose all sense of time. This is pure passion! How fun.
All about Fashion -THEN
After spending over 15 years designing Textile Design or Surface Design for the NYC Fashion industry as a first career, I am in my element with all kinds of design and creativity.
NYC was the center of design for several decades and I was there. Attending top trend shows and watching the rolling racks whiz by me on 7th Avenue, this was where I was enthralled with the energy of design. Being a color specialist as well, my eye was trained to see balance and hue. Museums of NYC were visited often to sharpen my design skills for the textile prints I was fine tuning.
Working for companies from Banana Republic to Calvin Klein is where print, pattern, color and art came alive. While working with CK colors were muted and style minimalist. Other fashion houses, colors and print were bold and made a statement.
Fashion, Art and Interiors meld together magically as a trinity of beauty and I embrace them all.
